God is so Good! =)

Image
I am such a sap. I talked to hubby just a little while ago and he told me he had some wonderful news. He is getting a raise! (Of course I cried!) I thought I would never hear that. Out of all the time we have been together ( 4 1/2 years married and 3 years before) I don't recall him ever getting a raise. Some people know the hard time we have gone through in the past two years. DD will be 2 in March and 6 weeks before she was born he lost his job he had for 5+ years (won't get into that....) and now...A week before blessing #3 is due to arrive...he gets a raise with a job he really enjoys. He has only had this position for a few months too! So...this is definitely a bragging post on my Hubby and ultimately it all goes to the Lord! Through all the hard time we had for almost 2 years God has rewarded us! God is so good. I am so happy for my wonderful Hubby. He works so hard for us and strives to follow Christ in everything he does. And it sure does pay off! Oh...I am just so exci

My Darling Daughter

Image
Well, there is nothing (as of now) on the baby home front, but I wanted to share some recent pictures of my daughter. The other day I found a pair of costume glasses I had and well, she is absolutely in love with them and wears them for a good portion of the day if I let her. She is so silly. I thought it was so adorable. Then these two pictures are from a couple of nights ago. She attempted to give herself a "shiner" but missed her eye and hit her forehead instead. She was trying to hide under her "Bubby's" bed and didn't clear the metal railing. So...here are pictures of the consequence. We have nicknamed our daughter "Tumbleina". It seems like she is always tumbling and picking herself up off of the ground. I thought our son would be the one with the most bruises and cuts. Boy where we wrong! She beats him by far! Anyway, I hope I can post sometime soon that we have a blessing on the way. I am ready, well as ready as I can be, to have this baby

The Twins

Image
I just wanted to share a picture of my friends' little baby boys. I say little because one was 5 lb 1 oz and the other was 5 lb 13 oz. I can't even imagine since both of mine where over 8 lbs. Aren't they adorable? The larger of the two went home on the 21st (his big brother's first birthday) but the second one didn't get to go home until the 27th. He had an infection in his blood that had to be taken care of first. So...as far as I know, everyone is home and doing well. I know Angie is trying to adjust the best she can from a family of 3 to a family of 5!

Last Prenatal Check-up....Hopefully ;-)

The midwife and her two "helpers" came to the house this morning for my check-up. She always comes to the house at least once....so she knows where she needs to go when I go into labor. ;) Anyway...everything looks fine. Blood pressure, pulse, measurement, etc...appears to be fine. The baby's head is down...which is a very good thing. The baby is due in 2 weeks, but we will have to wait and see what happens. Hopefully I don't go late with this one. DD was late by 5 days, but that was to be expected. DS was 1 day early...and I think that was only because of the pitocin. Otherwise...he probably would have been born on his due date. He missed my sister's birthday by one day though. So anyway...need to take a "nap"....we didn't get much sleep last night and I am feeling it right now, plus the two children are cranky....I think we all need a rest. So....in the near future I hope to post that I have gone into labor. May our Lord richly bless you today. =-)

Snow and Wisdom

Image
Well I just wanted to add a few pictures that I took last night of the children playing in the snow. It is actually the first time that DD has been allowed to be outside since we moved! It has always been too muddy or when Hubby and DS were outside...she was napping. She loved it. She was our little puffy pink marshmallow! I know I haven't posted about my "reading" the past few days....have been caught up with posting about my "SnowBabies". ;0) Well the past few chapters I have read have mainly been about wisdom and the attaining of. Wisdom is a free gift from God, but we need to ask for it. As a wife and mother I need wisdom everyday to discern what is best for my family....how I should discipline....what I teach my children (School wise)....how to interact with my husband...etc. It is the lack of wisdom that gets many wives into trouble. Oh, they have the so called "knowledge" from the world, but I would much rather have the wisdom from our Lord on

My Weirdness Within Me Meme

Okay...I have been tagged by Anna for this Meme. THE RULES: Each player of this game starts with the 6 weird things about you. People who get tagged need to write a blog of their own 6 weird things as well as state this rule clearly. In the end, you need to choose 6 people to be tagged and list their names. Don't forget to leave a comment that says you are tagged in their comments and tell them to read your blog. 1. I absolutely love Velvet Ice Cream's Chocolate ice cream with the peanut butter swirled through. It is my favorite. I know that really isn't "weird", but I could eat a whole quart in one sitting if no one would know. ;) 2. As a kid one of my favorite snacks was fruit roll-ups with pretzel sticks rolled up inside. I used to eat that all the time! It was great. 3. Until I was pregnant with my first child I couldn't get a shot at all. Anytime I had to be given a shot....I started shaking and crying when the nurse was on the other side of the room! I

New Job for Shad

For those of you who do not know...Shad is our dog. His name is short for Shadrach and he is a mix between Australian Shepherd and a Black lab. This was so funny I just had to share it. Hubby was very happy to discover this....it meant he didn't have to do as much work. Check out the video. Hope this works! =)

Pictures from First substantial Snow

Well...first time DS got to go outside and play anyway. Here are some pictures from today.

Quick Post

Okay all....This is going to be a quick post today. I have a lot to do. I just wanted to ask this question. Do you have joy today? Did you wake up praising God and giving thanks? Or did you wake up grumbling and complaining? Waking up, even though it is very hard, with a joyful heart and verbally thanking our Lord for the day...makes a huge difference. Don't believe me? Just try it and see what you think about it after a couple of days. It really does make a difference. Also...for those of you that are married...how have you "helped" your husband today? Have you shown him love and gratitude? Remember when you love, honor, and respect your Husband, you are loving, honoring, and respecting our Lord and Saviour. Just wanted to remind you all. Have a wonderful God Filled Day. Oh yes...don't forget to sing. It makes things much more enjoyable! ;)

Look at what I did today!

Image
Okay...we had this really ugly green chair, but it was oh so comfortable. Well today I worked to make a slip cover for it. Never done a slipcover before, but I tried my hand at it. Here are the before pictures of the chair. And here is the picture of the slipcover I made today. So...for about $2 I gave our chair a "new look." Here are also a couple of pictures of the my goofy children. Well...the last picture isn't of my children. DS wanted a picture taken of their piggies they got today. Yep...on our way to Westerville today we stopped at Wendy's and "Wilber" came in their meals. In case you couldn't tell...the pictures are much better. Why?.....Hubby got me a new camera. He wanted a decent one for when our little bundle of joy arrives. So now...I have a new "toy" to play with. Yippee!!!!!

The Boys have Arrived!

Image
My friend, Angie, called me yesterday evening to let me know that her two little boys have arrived! I am so excited. They were both born without any complications and it was a fairly quick delivery...considering they are twins. The first one weighed 5 lb 13 oz and the second one weighed 5 lbs 1 oz. I can't wait to see pictures. She said that her hubby had pictures and that he will send them to me as soon as he can. I can't wait to see them. They sound so tiny to me! But mine have both been 8 lbs. 6 oz and 8lbs 7 oz. The baby we are waiting to meet is probably bigger than that right now! I hope to be able to see them, but I just have to wait and see. *The picture is of my 2 when DD was 2 days old*

Busy Day

Image
Okay...I think I mentioned the other day about salvaging a glider rockers from our neighbors trash. Well...today I made the covers for the cushions for the chairs. We went out on Saturday, purchased new foam, cut it to the previous shape, and I then made the covers. Now...keep in mind this is the first time I have ever tried anything like this. Miss G will recognize it because I believe she still has curtains made out of this material. I should have known when I asked for hubby's opinion on the color of fabric he would say green. ;) He always says green! =) I still need to cover the ottoman, but I need to wait until hubby gets more staples for his staple gun. Covering the ottoman will be a lot quicker and much easier. This was really hard for me to try and stuff the foam inside the covers, but it didn't turn out too bad. I am pleased with it and now we can put it in our bedroom so we can rock the new one whenever he or she decides to arrive. ;) I have a lot to do yet, but I wa

My Hubby's Help Meet

Image
I have been thinking about this subject for a long time. What is that subject? Well, being my hubby's help meet of course. I sometimes wonder if I am his help meet or more of a hindrance to him. I sometimes let the "old nature" take over...which I have noticed a lot lately. I have used the excuse, "he needs to tell me..." a lot lately. I am lazy. I admit it. I say that I wish hubby would just tell me what he wants me to do while he is gone, but the truth is....that makes me just like a child that needs his or her chore listed written out for them everyday. By being his help meet I should be able to "read" what my husband would like to see done and do it. Now...that doesn't mean that if he comes home and things aren't done to his "liking" that he will "punish" me. (I know some people where probably thinking that. ;) So...I started reading "Created to be His Help Meet" by Debbie Pearl. I have actually had this book

Nothing yet

Image
Well...haven't heard anything yet from Angie. I am very surprised that they haven't been born yet, but I know the doctor was hoping for her to wait. I want to see these little guys so bad, but I guess they will come when they come. As for myself...I only have 3 weeks left! I am trying to get all the last minutes things done. Today I need to finish putting away the laundry I did yesterday and I need to make "covers" for the pads for our "new" chair. I say "new" because we found it in our neighbors trash...so to speak. They where throwing it away. There was nothing wrong with it. So for $20 we got a new glider rocker. Just needed to purchase the new pads for the rocker! So now we have two. One for DD's room and one for our room so we can rock the baby after he/she comes. So...I better get to work! I need to finish up some odds-n-ends. I hope you all have a wonderful God-filled day!

Maybe a baby soon...not mine!

My friend Angie is due the day after me with twins. Well, after her appointment today she found she was 3 cm dialated and 100% effaced. Her doctor gave her a steroid shot today...she could have the babies this weekend! Just had to tell someone!

Baby, Baby, Baby!

Image
I did go to see the midwife yesterday. Everything seems to be fine. My "normals" where off a bit, but she is pretty sure that it is because I was sick this weekend...and my body is still stressed from it. The Baby's heartbeat is good. I am so excited. We are down to 4 weeks now! I can't believe it....I need to get hustling on getting this house in order. ;) Also...a friend from high school e-mailed me to tell me that her and her hubby are expecting their first baby! I am so excited for them....and her mom. Her mom has already made a baby blanket and the baby isn't due until this summer! I think she is just a little excited. Then last night we found out my in-laws neighbors are expecting another baby! This is a shocker because they have 3 girls. The oldest is probably 15 and the youngest is probably around 12. So...this was a shocker to them, but they are excited (at least the parents are... will have to wait and see about the girls reaction though. ;) So any

Answered Prayer

Well...yesterday was a pretty rotten day. I didn't feel well when I woke up and just thought it was because of my back ache and lack of sleep from the previous night. Son didn't want to go to sleep until after 1:00 am! Anyway, we went to church and my stomach just never felt "quit right." We ran some errands afterward and when we got home Hubby fed the children supper and I went to bed. I stayed there for most of the evening. Well after Hubby got the children bathed and in bed I took my shower. I tried drinking some gatorade after and then.....I had to make the "mad dash" for the bathroom. I had to do that 3 times in 2 hours or less. I couldn't keep anything down! So..the only way to go to sleep was...not to eat or drink anything else. So..when I woke up this morning I was VERY THIRSTY. But I have been able to get some gatorade , handful of cereal, and a few pretzels down. I just feel really worn out. I am very grateful though that I still don't feel

Braggin' on Hubby

Image
I just had to take time to brag on my wonderful Hubby. Today he got a really nice letter from a customer and a gift card to Bob Evans! WhoooHooo! Everyone is so surprised. His boss said, "I have never seen that before." (Meaning a customer thanking a worker with a gift.) People have sent Thank you letters before but never gifts. I am so happy for him. We have had a really rough 4 years with his job situation. I am just so happy for him to find a job he enjoys and he feels like he is appreciated and can make a difference. So...congrats Hubby!

Finally....Pictures!

Image
Well, I finally found some batteries for the camera. So this post is going to be "overloaded" with pictures. Okay...this first picture is of my darling daughter. ;) She decided to get herself dressed today. As you can see, she has the neckline of the dress around her waist. At least she tried. Then she decided she wanted to ride the horse and she also wanted to wear her favorite accessory....a hat. She loves this prairie bonnet! This dish soap dress is from a Pattern by Anna at Lullabies and Lace. I made it for myself for my birthday because I had the necessary "supplies" on hand. I really wanted to make the vintage shell purse, but I didn't have the handles....let alone the color yarn I wanted. So it will have to wait. This next pictures are of 12" squares I have been making for a couple of different swaps. I have all the blue ones done for a swap over at Lullabies and Lace and I hope to send them out this Saturday. Just need to get them packaged. The gre

Organizing

Image
Well...as most people probably do this time of year I have been trying to organize my home. I found a couple of blogs that are mainly about organizing. The Lazy Organizer and I'm an Organizing Junkie are two websites that I have found recently that has some good links an ideas for organizing different parts of the home and your lives. So I know I have had a lot of short posts lately, but I need to get back to getting the home in order. May you all have a wonderful day.
