Early Birthday

Image
Well, it is hard to believe that Big T will be 4 in just 7 days! He is growing up so fast. Even though he hasn't officially had his birthday yet we took him down to my parents house this past weekend. We did this so that his Grandpa and Grandma could take part in something he has been asking to do for a long time...and that is.......He has wanted to ride a train. The Hocking Valley Scenic railway is a place where the young and young at heart can take a 14 mile (or longer) train ride that also includes a 30 minute stop at Robbins Crossing which involves pioneer cabins and the like. The children absolutely loved it and I wanted to share pictures from our trip. When we took off from the train stations Big T had the biggest smile on his face! He loved going over the bridges too (at least the river had some water in it due to the recent rain.) This is a decent picture of the family. Little E isn't with us. He was asleep on Grandpa's lap at this point. Here are a couple of pictur

Saying Goodbye......

Image
This past weekend we (our church family included) said goodbye to a wonderful family. This family left yesterday morning for the country of Columbia to serve for 6 months. In some ways it will seem like such a long time and in other ways I know it will go by very quickly. On Friday we had a large get together to have a time of dinner, prayer, and fellowship. My family had to leave early (will tell why later), but I just wanted to show some pictures from Friday night. And I also wanted to say that my prayers are with this family as I know they are doing the Lord's will.

Show and Tell Friday (7/27)

Welcome to "Show and Tell Friday!" Do you have a something special to share with us? It could be a trinket from grade school, a piece of jewelry, an antique find. Your show and tell can be old or new. Use your imagination and dig through those old boxes in your closet if you have to! Feel free to share pictures and if there's a story behind your special something, that's even better! Today I wanted to share with you something that I made yesterday. Now...keep in mind I had no pattern, just a general idea. This is called a Mei Tei or an ABC (Asi@n B@by C@rrier) I wanted something to carry Little E in besides my sling. I wanted something to switch back and forth with. So...it definitely needs some "tweaking", but at least I have a prototype now. It's reversible, but the striped side is too cute with the bandannas. I just wanted to also say that this has been a HUGE month for Little E. A couple of weeks ago he learned how to sit up, pull himself up (to a

Warning...Image Heavy

Just fair warning...I have a lot of pictures to catch up on. So..if you have a slow connection you are either going to have to wait a long time, or you may just want to go on to something else. ;) The first couple of pictures are of the children playing at Nana's house the other day. Big T is playing with bubbles, Sweet E is playing baseball, and Little E is riding the tractor. The rest of these pictures are of our trip to the train at the Kokosing Gap Trail. The children love climbing all over this thing! The enjoy it so much. It is so fun to see their faces light up when they figure out where we are at. So...here are a lot of pictures from last night. Hope you enjoy.

In The Kitchen....

Image
Well...I have been having a lot of fun in the kitchen lately. At the end of last week I made a wonderful parsley salad...also known as Tabouli, or Tabbouleh, depending on how you feel like spelling it. I got the recipe from Mrs. M and it is a great salad! It has strong flavors but you really must try it. Here's a picture of it. Doesn't it look great! =) (and just a note...she uses 3 cups of parsley...I only use 2 and it's plenty for us.) On Monday, my helper and I made Blueberry-Banana bread. I don't have a picture of it, but it is awesome! I have had a couple of pieces everyday and so have the children. It's really good. Then today I made some refrigerator style pickles . This recipe also came from Mrs. M. I hope I did it right. How long do I need to let them sit until they are ready to eat? Anyway, here is a picture before I put the lids on. Don't worry I have a ton of pictures of the children I need to post. I hope to do some of that tomorrow. Blessings to

Chicken in My Nose!

You have to love 2 year olds. Here is a recent conversation Sweet E and I had recently. Just to give you the scenario...we were walking to go out to eat Donat*'s. On the way there was pass a KFC. So here is how it went. Sweet E: "Mama!" Me: "Do you smell chicken?" Sweet E: "Yeah...Chicken in my nose!" (as she points to her nose) It sure is fun having her around. =)

Asking for Prayer

Image
I am asking all of you to keep me in your prayers. Over the past few months I have been dealing with anger and I know what it is coming from. Since my blessed Little E was born I have not spent enough time in God's word and it is showing. So I am asking for prayer that I would be able to control my anger and be able to get more out of God's word than I am at present. So I wanted to publicly apologize to my children for being an angry mother....which is not what God intended. I need to be joyous in my work. It's not just doing the dishes....or washing the laundry. I am raising three children for the kingdom of our Lord and washing laundry is just a daily task that I have the privilege of doing for them.

Last week he attended Bible school and Grandma S' church. The theme was Avalanche Rance and I know there are a LOT of churches doing this one. It fit him perfectly since he has a love of horses. So I just wanted to share a few pictures from the last night of Bible school....or as Big T calls it, Cowboy School . ;) Here is a picture of Little E and Grandpa S waiting for the program to start. The next two pictures are of the children standing up front. Not good pictures, but you can tell they all have the "deer in the

Update...finally....

Okay...Hubby and I had a wonderful anniversary. We dropped the older two off and Gma and Gpa S' and Hubby took me on a "stroll" down memory lane. He drove us over to the college where we met and were he proposed. It was really sweet....he had me close my eyes and he read the poem to me that he read the day he proposed. Then we went out to eat at Mazza's. It was really, really good. I love their garlic house salad. It's awesome! Afterwards we just ran a couple of errands. Onto an update with potty training.....still are not "there" yet, but at least we are finally making progress. :) Sweet E did have an accident while we were out to eat, but...it was my fault..I should has taken her sooner. Well, Big T went to Bible School last week. I will have to show some pictures soon and Little E is growing up! He is sitting up on his own now. I can't believe it. Well, as I said I just wanted to give a very quick update. Now I better get back to work. Blessings t

Our 5th Wedding Anniversary

Welcome to "Show and Tell Friday!" Do you have a something special to share with us? It could be a trinket from grade school, a piece of jewelry, an antique find. Your show and tell can be old or new. Use your imagination and dig through those old boxes in your closet if you have to! Feel free to share pictures and if there's a story behind your special something, that's even better! **FAIR WARNING- This post is image heavy and pic quality is poor because they are pictures of pictures** It didn't take me long to decided what I was doing for show and tell today. Because.....today is our 5th wedding anniversary! So much has happened in five years, but we have been together for almost 8 years! (In September it will be 8 years since our first date). So, I wanted to take time to share some pictures with you. I have divided them up into groups: our engagement and our wedding. I will first tell the story of our engagement. We had been together for 8 1/2 months when Hub
