Grieving...

Image
I have been struggling with whether or not to write this. Since I decided to write something I have been struggling with what to write. Most people know that I had a miscarriage a couple of months ago. At first the pregnancy seemed to be going just fine, but there was always something. Some feeling that I had that things weren't the way they should be. After a few weeks I went in and had an ultrasound. All I can say is it's pure torture to have your ultrasound done on a Thursday and have to wait till Monday for the results. Anyway, the ultrasound confirmed my suspicions. Even though I felt like something wasn't right it didn't make it any easier. I would have been ten weeks a couple of days after the miscarriage. And I know people meant well, but a lot of people just made things worse. My emotions were all over the place. I never really got a chance to grieve. I felt forced to push through and just move on with life. I know I needed to take time to grieve. Time to cry ...

Resurrection Day (weekend)

Image
Wow, a whole month since I posted last. Really? It can't have been that long......can it? I guess I have let "life" take control. Not good. My sister kindly reminded me that I needed to get a post up. (She is having withdrawal. :-) The day before Resurrection Sunday my parents came up to see us and bring the children some goodies. :-) Checking out all the goodies Getting help from Grandma Special K loves to go on walks!   Then after my parents left we went with my Mother-in-Love to the circus in town. I had to turn away for most of the first act because it made me so nervous. Especially since they did all of this inside of a building at the fairgrounds. He was just inches from the beams in the building. Aack! Big T was chosen to be apart of the hula hoop contest. Poor kid didn't have a chance. ;-)  Resurrection Sunday was wonderful (although a very long day). We attended sunrise service, breakfast, and the morning service. Then we had the church se...

So What...

Image
if it's already the middle of January. Who cares if I post Christmas pictures now? I'm behind okay? Just leave me alone. ;-) I don't know what it is. I just can't get back into the habit of posting every few days. I am lucky if I download pictures two weeks after they are taken. That is how bad I have gotten. Shame on me. But, because I haven't posted pictures lately what's the difference if I just do it now. So here you go. Christmas pictures in the middle of January.  First up is the present I made for Beloved. I had this idea just come to me when I was walking by an old globe that we had. I thought of the idea this past summer (I think). The globe isn't accurate and so I wanted to find a new use for it. I also wanted Beloved to have something in his office that he would enjoy. So...why not a rotating photo album. I printed a LOT of pictures of our family. There is a picture of each of the children when they were born, our engagement and wedding photo, an...

Thank you....

God for providing for our family. I can say our debts (minus the mortgage anyway) are paid off. We paid of the ER bill (the biggest bill) off this week. It felt so good! We thought it would take a long time to pay these bills off and with a surprise blessing they are taken care of! So I just wanted to share that with you all. ;-) And during this blessed week of reflection on God's love, goodness, grace, and forgiveness we are constantly trying to figure out what is best for our family. I guess you could call them traditions. Of course any time I hear the word tradition I think of this song. I just can't help it. ;-) (just make sure to shut off the music in the side bar).   We don't do the Santa thing with our children. That's our choice. We don't spend a ton of money on gifts for everyone in the family either (not like we could if we wanted to. LOL) For a few years we didn't celebrate Christmas at all. We would attend family gatherings but that was it. I don...

Apple Time!

Image
I love this time of year. Yes, Autumn is my favorite. I love the changing colors of the leaves, the crisp air, the crunch of leaves underfoot, and the smell of apple butter in the morning. My wonderful MIL had a week of vacation last week, so we had a chance to go apple picking together! I love to go apple picking. I love going into the store at the orchard because you are just bombarded with so many wonderful smells! I wasn't sure if we would be able to get enough of our favorite apples this year (They only have one row of trees of Jonagold and all the apples were ripening earlier this year.) But we were apple to get a bushel worth of Jonagolds. :-) I think my MIL even got a 1/2 bushel of apples. The children loved picking their own apples and later, getting to pick out pumpkins to decorate our front steps. If I had the money I would go to the orchard every week. :-) Big T was a huge help getting apples we couldn't reach. :-)   I can't wait until next year!

Mish Mash

This post is going to have a little of this and a little of that. I'm sorry...okay? But I fell WAY behind in my posts once again. And I am too lazy to write multiple posts. ;-) First up we have Robin H0od. Little E was having a good ol' time with his bow. Too bad his overalls are a little too small. haha And then I found proof of Little E touching the camera after he has been instructed multiple times not to touch it. We finally built a second bench for our dining room table a couple of weeks ago. Here is an in-progress picture. It has a slight wobble to it, but it works just fine. Nice and sturdy. :-) (You can find the plans at Knock Off Wood/Ana White ) While we were building the bench Sweet E wanted to fly her kite. At least she wore herself out a little bit. :-) Who's that coming down the road? Why...it's my Dad and Mom riding bikes with the children! They gave our bikes a try and I think they liked our set-up. Every time I thought they were going to stop, they woul...

Birthdays and Soccer

Image
At least I am not a month behind on posting pictures....right? :-) Big T's birthday happened to be the same day as the Easterday Reunion up at my BIL's house. So we took his cake up there to share with everyone. (I didn't want to make him wait for his cake) I am so glad that he liked his cake. I am curious what he will ask for next year though! Special K enjoyed playing inside Big T's tent. :-) Of course the pool was a big hit with all the children. :-) My SIL even started throwing water balloons. Little E thought that was great fun! You can even tell that their chickens are free range in this photo. See that feather? One of the many things Special K tried to put in her mouth. Yuck! Waiting for a ride on the four wheeler. It's no wonder it takes me so long to clean the house. Little E came up with one of the shop vac attachments stuck on his arm. LOL And then he thought it was funny and put the other one on too. Upward Soccer practices started last week. Big T, Swee...
