Gone...

Just wanted to let everyone know that I will be gone over the weekend. I was busy this past week, but hope to get caught up on posts when we get back. Blessings to all!

Tumbleina is at it again!

I tell you what...Sweet E definitely has earned the nickname "Tumble-ina ." She has fallen a handful of times today. The first time she smack her head on the floor, the second time she banged up her knee, she had a couple of other small falls, but this last one...not as lucky. She came crying to me and had blood all over her face, hands, and outfit. She fell and banged her mouth on something. Not sure what, but it busted her upper lip. After cleaning her up I found a drop of blood on the floor and on the wood chest. I tell you what....I should just wrap that girl up in bubble wrap ! ;o)

Doctor's Visits and Little E

Image
Yep...We have found out that Little E is allergic to ...food....some food. Not sure exactly what, but we are going to figure it out. We are going to be keeping a running list of what he can eat and what he can't. The doctor gave us some advice, but I wanted to post about it so you all could be praying for our little guy.

Show and Tell Friday (9/21)

Image
Welcome to "Show and Tell Friday!" Do you have a something special to share with us? It could be a trinket from grade school, a piece of jewelry, an antique find. Your show and tell can be old or new. Use your imagination and dig through those old boxes in your closet if you have to! Feel free to share pictures and if there's a story behind your special something, that's even better! I don't remember if I had shown this before, but this is an ensemble I crocheted for Sweet E last year. It is made out of size 3 thread and the set includes the dress, hat and bloomers. I made it for her 2nd birthday. I loved it. I thought she looked wonderful in it.

Pictures

I haven't been good about showing pictures lately. These were a few that I had on the camera when I downloaded the ones from canning the grape jelly and juice. Isn't Sweet E....well...sweet? Some days she sits still long enough to braid her hair. Don't have a picture of the braids, but I thought this was sweet. I think was a day when Hubby left to run an errand or something and Little E was watching him. I thought it was so sweet. :D Hubby rescued this last rose of the year before the frost Saturday night. I hadn't had any roses for a few weeks, but this one was a pleasant surprise. :o) These next pictures Hubby took. He caught Little E in the bathroom climbing on his siblings step stool. He seemed very pleased with himself. He was actually able to sit himself down on the chair. He is too sweet. I can't believe that he is 7 months old and has 4 teeth already! This last one I just had to add because I thought it was hilarious! ;o)

36 lbs. of Grapes!!!!

Image
Yep..you read right. Last Thursday Hubby brought home two large bags of concord grapes...fresh off the vine. Each bag weighed about 5 pounds. Then on Monday he brought home 4 bags and each bag weighed 6 1/2 pounds!! They tasted so yummy. You may be wondering were in the world would we get that many grapes...and for FREE ....well....I will tell you. ;o) Were Hubby works there is a house (original with the property before the buildings for the business were built) has a large grape vine that engulfs an apple tree. Anyway...the owner told hubby he could have as many grapes as he wanted (they don't do anything with them). Oh....I was so excited. I always wanted to make my own jelly and juice, but I didn't want to pay a lot for grapes that I didn't know where they came from or to take the time to do such a messy job. But...that's okay...I am so glad I did. When he brought the first round home I wasn't prepared. We washed the grapes.... Then I mashed them with a potato ma

A B C D E F G......

Yep...we have been singing the ABC's around here a lot lately. So far Big T and Sweet E have learned the Big Letter A and little letter a and Big B and little b too. I have been using papers from this website and the children have been loving it! :D Today they practiced using scissors as well. Big T does very well with the scissors and Sweet E's coordination is "lacking" in some areas, but she is only 2 1/2. We also had a time of devotions and they seemed to enjoy the book I used this morning. It is an ABC book for children with biblical questions, verses, etc. So...I have to get back to laundry and get ready to make homemade pizza (trying a new crust recipe). Oh yeah...I even had an adventure in canning that I have never done before this past weekend, hopefully tomorrow I can write about it. Blessings to all on this glorious day the Lord has given us. :o)

Show and Tell Friday (9/14)

Last Winter I made this sweater for her and because our last name is Snow I just had to add snowflakes to it! I just thought it was absolutely adorable and she really liked it too. It will probably fit her again this year. I need to dig around and find it again. ;o)

All too true...

I know this video is a comedic skit to make fun our society's problem with debt but it is all too true.

Blessings....

I just wanted to take time this evening to thank a very special lady. I won't mention who it is...but she knows I am talking about her. We were blessed today by a wonderful Sister in Christ and I just wanted to publicly thank her for what she has done/provided for my family out of the goodness of her heart. Thank you so much darling...it means so much to us. :o) I also wanted to give a quick update about the fleas. Every time Hubby checks the dog he only sees one...maybe two. I haven't noticed any bites on the children or any in the house. Well...today we decided it would be alright for the children to play in the yard again. Big T ended up with over 7 bites just from this evening and they were even under his clothes! I didn't even get any bites today and I was going in and out all day long doing laundry. I just feel so bad for him. I can't believe that they weren't even on his feet, arms, or hands, but under his clothes. I really hope these things go away soon. As

Nice Matters Award

Image
Lovely Miss Marci gave me this award a while ago, but I forgot to blog about it and now Anna has also presented me with this awesome award! I feel so special to have been given this award by two special ladies. “This award is for those bloggers who are nice people; good blog friends and those who inspire good feelings and inspiration. Also for those who are a positive influence on our blogging world. Once you’ve been awarded please pass it on to 7 others who you feel are deserving of this award." I don't know if I can choose 7 people...but here I go. 1. Kelli - She is a very sweet lady and I feel she is a kindred spirit. 2. Bridget - I love reading this lady's blog. She is very sweet and I love reading all of her adventures of being a mother of 5. :) 3. Kathy - She has given me so many things.....love all my crochet things! It has been wonderful getting to know her. 4. Jane - She was my second mom when I moved to Ohio. She has done so much for me over the years. 5. Ma

Friday comes a lot quicker than I realize sometimes. Anyway, I don't know how many of you remember this post back in July. I mentioned that my wedding dress actually belonged to my mother. I wanted to take time to show her dress today. They aren't the greatest pics (because I had to take pictures of pictures.....) but you get the general idea. When I wore it my MIL took off the sleeves (made a bow out of them for the back of the dress), took off the embellishment/lace on the bodice, and tr

All I can say is....OUCH!!!!

I saw this link to another forum. I thought my babies were big. This boy is anything but little at 14 lbs at birth. Little E is just now 16 1/2 lbs and he is almost 7 months! Simply amazing. (and he was delivered by midwives.)

Hard to believe....

Image
It is so hard to believe that it is already September! I was going to start preschool with Big T and Sweet E yesterday, but I had a sick boy on my hands. Big T wasn't throwing up or anything but he had a fever of 102 for almost two whole days. Yesterday I think he slept most of the day away, but today he is back to his old routine or going "rounds" with his sister. :o) Well...at least things are "back to normal". Not sure what was going on with him, but whatever it is...it appears to have gone away. I hope to write more very soon, but I need to get things together and get started on preschool.
