Show and Tell Friday

Well today I decided I wanted to show off my Keeper At Home Uniform. I made this apron 3 years ago and I wear it almost everyday. It is very rare when I am not wearing it. The poor thing has a patched hole and both pockets have been ripped. They are currently being held together by safety pins because I have been too lazy to fix it. That...or maybe it's just because it gives it more character. I hope to make myself another one so I can have a "good" one and a "garden" one. It is a pattern from Sense and Sensibility called the Edwardian Apron. This apron is one of my favorite things of all time. I like it because it covers a lot...I am pretty messy when it comes to cleaning and cooking. I still remember when I purchased the fabric for the apron. Hubby liked it so much he requested I go back and buy more to make a dress. So I did...and I wore the dress for over 2 years. It is now a chore dress, but it also has holes in it that I need to fix. ;)

Temptress! Now I want that apron pattern more than ever. I guess I am going to have to break down and get it. By the way, you look simply lovely. Now, where are the garden pictures? Is your bed made?

This is a great pattern. i love the aprons that cover all of your clothing. I have many grease stains on the tops of my shirts from that splattered food that land in just the wrong place.

That is a wonderful apron. May I ask where you got your pattern? I would love to make one like it, especially for when I'm canning. I make such a mess!

Oh, I love the apron. I have the edwardian apron pattern, too, but have not, yet, made it. I'm a messing cooker/cleaner, too. lol
Just this evening I was making our sourdough pizza and I had flour all over... me, the floor, and the counter. *Ü*

They have had so much fun with those...pretending to be knights, pirates, and soldiers. Well, hubby decided that he could make them just as well or better. So here is a finished sword made by hubby. (He actually ended up making seven!) Our local leather shop cut out the pieces for us which cut down on our work tremendously. Hopefully I can show off one that is much bigger soon. Feel free to share pictures and if there's a story behind your special something, that's even better! Today I am taking part in Kelli's Show and Tell and her Giving Thanks week. Last Saturday I had the chance to do something I had never done before. I put together a gingerbread house with my MIL and my children. My MIL made the gingerbread and then she had me help her assemble it and then decorate it. We didn't finish it all, but we hope to finish it this afternoon since she has the day off. I am pretty proud of myself. Next year maybe the children and I can do this as a school project/activity. So...here is the gingerbread house in all it's glory. I hope to post a finished

Yesterday I was in our side yard raking up a pile of leaves for Sweet E to play in and I saw something out of the corner of my eye. It was bright red. I looked down and saw three bright red objects in the grass. I picked them up....I have never seen these before. We are thinking they may possibly be wild strawberries, but are unsure since we have no prior experience with them. (really have no clue as to what they actually are.)
