Show & Tell Friday

Today is Show and Tell Friday once again. I have had a lot of fun with this since Kelli started in a couple of weeks ago. I have shown some paintings my Hubby and I did and a picture of my son with our dog and my mother's dog. Today...I want to show you a piece of jewelry. For those that know me, this is probably a surprise since I don't wear jewelry, but this piece is very special to me. Their is "history" to this cross. My grandmother died at the age of 51 of colon cancer (I was 10). 12 years later my grandfather and step-grandma decided it was time to do something with all of grandma's gold jewelry. There are 14 cousins on that side, but only my sister and I ever knew Grandma Peggy (the rest were not born until after grandpa remarried a wonderful lady named Helen.) Anyway they purchased to gold crosses (one for myself and one for my sister) and had the diamonds taken from Grandma's wedding band/solitaire and had them placed on these crosses. I wore this cross on my wedding day. It is very special to me and wanted to share it with you all. Thank you for looking.

They have had so much fun with those...pretending to be knights, pirates, and soldiers. Well, hubby decided that he could make them just as well or better. So here is a finished sword made by hubby. Last Saturday I had the chance to do something I had never done before. I put together a gingerbread house with my MIL and my children. My MIL made the gingerbread and then she had me help her assemble it and then decorate it. We didn't finish it all, but we hope to finish it this afternoon since she has the day off. Yesterday I was in our side yard raking up a pile of leaves for Sweet E to play in and I saw something out of the corner of my eye. It was bright red. I looked down and saw three bright red objects in the grass. I picked them up....I have never seen these before.
