First, Second, or Third Field Trip!

I am not sure what to call this. I guess our first field trip was to the Creation Museum, but school hadn't started. Then we did go hiking the other day, but I guess I just consider that a family outing. Anyway, Nana Snow had the day off from work so we all headed on down to Legend Hills Orchard to pick some apples. Sweet E kept saying, "Apples don't grow on trees" as she was pointing to the ones in our yard. No matter how much explaining we did nothing changed her mind until we got to the orchard. Now if you ask her if apples grow on trees she says, "YES, THEY DO!" :o) The children had a ton of fun picking apples. It was a joy to watch their facial expressions.
I asked Sweet E to show me her apple and this is what I got. :o)
Little E tried to pick apples at first, but when he couldn't pull them off he got frustrated and wanted nothing to do with the apples.
After apple picking we headed back to Nana's house to make some applesauce and apple pie. Here is Big T helping Nana peel and slice some apples. There was a LOT of slicing......
....AND a lot of eating. ;o)
After all that work, and eating lunch, the children headed outside to play for a while. I had asked Sweet E to twirl and she did! She loves to twirl.
I know this is an awkward picture, but after seeing it I just realized how big this child is getting! Plus, the last 2 days this boy won't stop eating! He must be growing again.
And of course....Little E had to get in on the action as well.
Let me tell you....all our hard work was worth it! The applesauce was wonderful and Beloved said that the pies could not be any better! We hope to go apple picking again on Monday, but with Beloved since he will have the day off. May you all have a blessed day!

Great pictures. I remember the first time we took Joshua to an orchard. He was 2 1/2. His eyes got so big with excitement when he saw all the apples on the tree. It still brings a smile to my face to remember it. He would grab on and pull until usually the apple came off and he went down on his bottom. =)
