Cars and Mice
No, this post is not about real live mice inside of cars. I wanted to post a picture of Hubby's "new" car. It took a long time, but we were finally able to find a car that we were looking for. Our friend, T, who is a mechanic/police officer looked it over and said we got a real good deal. I am very pleased with it and I think hubby is too. The Lord does provide if we wait on him. So, here is a picture of his commuter car. We hope this will last him for a long time and it will definitely save on gas as it gets around 37 miles ( highway) to the gallon. (and highway miles is what Hubby puts on it.)
Then I also wanted to post a picture of some mice I made. My BIL birthday was earlier this month and I decided I wanted to make him a "treat" that he seems to enjoy so much and those are chocolate covered mice. I thought I would show you all how to make them too. First I take my maraschino cherries (WITH stems) and put them on a paper towel.
I proceed to put sliced almonds into a bowl and unwrap the same number (or more) H@rshey's kisses and place them in a bowl.
I then take my chocolate (next time I will just use chocolate chips) and melt it. I don't have a double boiler so I put the chocolate into a metal bowl, then place that on top of a pot with boiling water. It has the same effect.
Anyway, once the chocolate is melted I dip the cherries into the chocolate and then place them on waxed paper. I then attach the "head" and "ears". Once these have cooled I add eyes to them. I made the eyes WAY too big this time, but I don't think my BIL cared. ;) These are fun to make and everyone seems to enjoy them. Let me know if you try and make them sometime. :)
