This week...

went by way too fast! We had three sick children in this home (and I had it for a few days as well) so a lot of things were put on hold, but we still went to grandparents homes. We went to my parent's home last week. The children were just starting their colds and Little E was fighting sleep. Dad took him and he fell asleep within a few minutes. It was so cute I had to get a picture. It's just too bad that he woke up after only 20 minutes or so because his poor little nose was so stuffy and his little lungs were starting to get "junk" in them.
Through the sickness there was plenty of time to play Leg*s with Papa.


And then at my IL's home there was time for the catching up with friends. :-)

Then there was a special present from Nana to Sweet E. It's a locket that Grandpa had given to Nana and she wanted to give it to Sweet E.


Uncle B.....they have to be picked up by him everytime they see him. :-)

New jammies all around.

Even good books to read.

And let's not forget....imitating Grandpa. (Don't worry...I only let him do it because the can was empty.)

They have had so much fun with those...pretending to be knights, pirates, and soldiers. Well, hubby decided that he could make them just as well or better. So here is a finished sword made by hubby. (He actually ended up making seven!) Our local leather shop cut out the pieces for us which cut down on our work tremendously. Hopefully I can show off one that is much bigger soon. Last Saturday I had the chance to do something I had never done before. I put together a gingerbread house with my MIL and my children. My MIL made the gingerbread and then she had me help her assemble it and then decorate it. We didn't finish it all, but we hope to finish it this afternoon since she has the day off. I am pretty proud of myself. Next year maybe the children and I can do this as a school project/activity. So...here is the gingerbread house in all it's glory. I hope to post a finished

I did it!

Yes, I did get up at 5am this morning. Two days in a row, that is a HUGE deal for me. Let's see if I can keep this up (but probably not on Sundays). Tomorrow will be the test. I am not the type of person that can sleep in two days in a row and then get up on time through the week. I am going to try to only allow myself (at first) to sleep in one day a week. We will see how that goes. ;) But, my quiet time the past two mornings has been wonderful! It's amazing how it totally changes my day. Today I was thinking about smiling. Do you know that people are drawn to a smile? It's true. Think about it. When you are out in a store or just out on a walk...there is something about a smile from someone. I guess it gives me "hope" that there are actually people out there with joy in their heart. Gotta wonderful sometimes with all the scowls I see.
