Gotta Love It!

I love knowing that in less than 45 minutes I saved my family over $20. What did I do? I gave my Beloved and Big T hair cuts. I think I do pretty good with using just a pair of scissors and my hands. I started doing hair cuts this way when our clippers became too dull last year and a piece broke off and we didn't have the money to replace them. I hope to get a decent set of clippers next month though so I can give Little E his first haircut. :D

I used to always cut Wes's hair too. If he hadn't taken my clippers with him I would have sent them to you :)

I have tried to cut James hair, but I ended up in tears so he doesn't allow me to touch it anymore. I admire anyone who can cut hair. Its a talent I do not possess.

They have had so much fun with those...pretending to be knights, pirates, and soldiers. Well, hubby decided that he could make them just as well or better. So here is a finished sword made by hubby. (He actually ended up making seven!) Our local leather shop cut out the pieces for us which cut down on our work tremendously. Hopefully I can show off one that is much bigger soon. Last Saturday I had the chance to do something I had never done before. I put together a gingerbread house with my MIL and my children. My MIL made the gingerbread and then she had me help her assemble it and then decorate it. We didn't finish it all, but we hope to finish it this afternoon since she has the day off. I did it!

Yes, I did get up at 5am this morning. Two days in a row, that is a HUGE deal for me. Let's see if I can keep this up (but probably not on Sundays). Tomorrow will be the test. I am not the type of person that can sleep in two days in a row and then get up on time through the week. I am going to try to only allow myself (at first) to sleep in one day a week. We will see how that goes. ;) But, my quiet time the past two mornings has been wonderful! It's amazing how it totally changes my day. Today I was thinking about smiling. Do you know that people are drawn to a smile? It's true. Think about it. When you are out in a store or just out on a walk...there is something about a smile from someone. I guess it gives me "hope" that there are actually people out there with joy in their heart. Gotta wonderful sometimes with all the scowls I see.
