Show and Tell Friday (11/09)

Welcome to "Show and Tell Friday!" Do you have a something special to share with us? It could be a trinket from grade school, a piece of jewelry, an antique find. Feel free to share pictures and if there's a story behind your special something, that's even better!

I got some more sewing done this past week. I am so proud of myself. :D Sweet E had a jumper that I really liked so I made my own pattern from it and made her two jumpers out of some fabric I found in the clearance section at JoAnn's. Pictures are not the greatest, but you get the idea. The dark brown is a corduroy with embroidery and the other is a twill with pink plaid flowers. I really like how they turned out. Next time I will lower the neckline. Gotta lover her pink boots!

I also got some more sewing done for myself. It's a terrible picture but I wanted to show that I made myself a lightweight denim skirt from the same pattern as this skirt. So..now that I have some sewing done...I need to get back to working on my son's afghan that I haven't touched in 9 months. Oh dear...time just flies right by. :D

I'm always impressed with people who can sew! My mother sewed for me and spoiled me rotten. blessings and you should be proud of your handiwork!

Those are quite pretty. My mother sews (or used to) like that. I know how, but just have not found the need or desire just yet. Seeing beautiful things made by others brings about a desire for me to do the same. Oh well, maybe someday.

Oh, I wish I could sew my own cloth, too! I especially love the pink dress, she looks so cute!

You certainly did a fabulous job on those sewing projects! My mom use to make all my clothes while I was growing up but unfortunately I don't take after her for sewing...I hem pants and skirts, that's it! lol xo

They have had so much fun with those...pretending to be knights, pirates, and soldiers. Well, hubby decided that he could make them just as well or better. So here is a finished sword made by hubby. (He actually ended up making seven!) Our local leather shop cut out the pieces for us which cut down on our work tremendously. Hopefully I can show off one that is much bigger soon. Last week he attended Bible school and Grandma S' church. The theme was Avalanche Rance and I know there are a LOT of churches doing this one. It fit him perfectly since he has a love of horses. Yesterday I was in our side yard raking up a pile of leaves for Sweet E to play in and I saw something out of the corner of my eye. It was bright red. I looked down and saw three bright red objects in the grass. I picked them up....I have never seen these before. We are thinking they may possibly be wild strawberries, but are unsure since we have no prior experience with them. (really have no clue as to what they actually are.)
