Two Shall Become One

We had a privilege to attend a wedding this past Friday and I had the privilege to help do the decorating for it. I just wanted to share some pics from Thursday and Friday. I wish I had more...or better pics, but I don't. Since I couldn't use the flash for long distance it made the zoomed shots blurry. Oh well, I do have a few so here we go. :D Here is a pic of me trying to finish decorating the arch inside the sanctuary. (Everything took longer than we thought it would.)
This cake is actually light pink with ganache topping. The oldest sister of the bride made it and it looked beautiful!

The sister that made the cake also made the Bride's gorgeous dress.
And lastly...her is a shot of Sweet E with one of her favorite people. :D

I also wanted to share this video. I think they are cousins of the bride...blurry image, but it sounds wonderful.

Show and Tell and Giving Thanks

Last Saturday I had the chance to do something I had never done before. I put together a gingerbread house with my MIL and my children. My MIL made the gingerbread and then she had me help her assemble it and then decorate it. We didn't finish it all, but we hope to finish it this afternoon since she has the day off. I am pretty proud of myself. Next year maybe the children and I can do this as a school project/activity. So...here is the gingerbread house in all it's glory. I hope to post a finished

I did it!

Yes, I did get up at 5am this morning. Two days in a row, that is a HUGE deal for me. Let's see if I can keep this up (but probably not on Sundays). Tomorrow will be the test. I am not the type of person that can sleep in two days in a row and then get up on time through the week. I am going to try to only allow myself (at first) to sleep in one day a week. We will see how that goes. ;) But, my quiet time the past two mornings has been wonderful! It's amazing how it totally changes my day. Today I was thinking about smiling. Do you know that people are drawn to a smile? It's true. Think about it. When you are out in a store or just out on a walk...there is something about a smile from someone. I guess it gives me "hope" that there are actually people out there with joy in their heart. Gotta wonderful sometimes with all the scowls I see.
