Count Your Blessings Monday (6/9)


"I am giving us an opportunity every Monday to not only count our blessings, but to share them with others. This is a way that we can encourage one another. Many of our blessings we will have pictures of and we can share those as well. I think that many times we forget that it is a blessing to be able to breath, to get out of bed, to hold a baby... Today was an easy choice as to my blessing. And that......is my sister. Sweet E and I went with my parents to take my little sister to the airport. She starts a new job today in New York. She will be missed and Sweet E has already proven that. (She cried when we left the airport and she asked where Aunt S was.) She has been such a help...she was even at our home when Sweet E was born. No...she didn't watch the birth, but she did watch Big T for us. ;) We love you S and can't wait to see you again. :D

What sweet pictures. I have tears in my eyes as well. I know what its like to be miles away from your sister. I miss mine too. Keep a photo album for Sweet E to look through and that will help her to remember her auntie. (my sister is always sending us pictures of her family. It helps.)

They have had so much fun with those...pretending to be knights, pirates, and soldiers. Well, hubby decided that he could make them just as well or better. So here is a finished sword made by hubby. (He actually ended up making seven!) Our local leather shop cut out the pieces for us which cut down on our work tremendously. Hopefully I can show off one that is much bigger soon. Feel free to share pictures and if there's a story behind your special something, that's even better! Today I am taking part in Kelli's Show and Tell and her Giving Thanks week. Last Saturday I had the chance to do something I had never done before. I put together a gingerbread house with my MIL and my children. My MIL made the gingerbread and then she had me help her assemble it and then decorate it. We didn't finish it all, but we hope to finish it this afternoon since she has the day off. I am pretty proud of myself. Next year maybe the children and I can do this as a school project/activity. So...here is the gingerbread house in all it's glory. I hope to post a finished

I did it!

Yes, I did get up at 5am this morning. Two days in a row, that is a HUGE deal for me. Let's see if I can keep this up (but probably not on Sundays). Tomorrow will be the test. I am not the type of person that can sleep in two days in a row and then get up on time through the week. I am going to try to only allow myself (at first) to sleep in one day a week. We will see how that goes. ;) But, my quiet time the past two mornings has been wonderful! It's amazing how it totally changes my day. Today I was thinking about smiling. Do you know that people are drawn to a smile? It's true. Think about it. When you are out in a store or just out on a walk...there is something about a smile from someone. I guess it gives me "hope" that there are actually people out there with joy in their heart. Gotta wonderful sometimes with all the scowls I see.
