Cooking, Cleaning......

No, I have not dropped off the face of the Earth. I know I haven't been around much. We went to my parents home last Friday evening and had the family dinner on Saturday. Then we came back that evening because on Sunday our family (along with another family at church) does a church service at a local retirement home on the 4th Sunday of ever month. Then on Monday evening we were invited to go to a candlelight service and then Tuesday was Hubby's get together with his family. Now I feel like I am just trying to "catch up". I feel that it is going to be a late night tonight. We have some friends coming over tomorrow evening for Pizza and I want to make sure all the toys are picked up and easily accessible tomorrow. It will be lots of fun. We will have a chance to visit and the children will have 4 others to play with! Well, hope to show some pictures very soon. Need to get them on the computer first. :D I better go check out my Quilt Bean soup to make sure it's not burning. Oh....I made a yummy dessert for tonight as well, but I will wait to tell you about it until after hubby gets home in case he sees this. Blessings to all!

Oh, so you made the Quilt Bean soup, eh? I have been looking at it and thinking about making it, too. It looks good in its pretty jar. :-D I hope to see many pictures soon! ;-)

They have had so much fun with those...pretending to be knights, pirates, and soldiers. Well, hubby decided that he could make them just as well or better. So here is a finished sword made by hubby. (He actually ended up making seven!) Our local leather shop cut out the pieces for us which cut down on our work tremendously. Hopefully I can show off one that is much bigger soon. Last Saturday I had the chance to do something I had never done before. I put together a gingerbread house with my MIL and my children. My MIL made the gingerbread and then she had me help her assemble it and then decorate it. We didn't finish it all, but we hope to finish it this afternoon since she has the day off. I did it!

Yes, I did get up at 5am this morning. Two days in a row, that is a HUGE deal for me. Let's see if I can keep this up (but probably not on Sundays). Tomorrow will be the test. I am not the type of person that can sleep in two days in a row and then get up on time through the week. I am going to try to only allow myself (at first) to sleep in one day a week. We will see how that goes. ;) But, my quiet time the past two mornings has been wonderful! It's amazing how it totally changes my day. Today I was thinking about smiling. Do you know that people are drawn to a smile? It's true. Think about it. When you are out in a store or just out on a walk...there is something about a smile from someone. I guess it gives me "hope" that there are actually people out there with joy in their heart. Gotta wonderful sometimes with all the scowls I see.
