Welding and Crochet

Yes, it seems as if those 2 words do not go together, but.... take a look at this article. I was amazed and inspired. So you never know ladies...you just might be able to get your husbands and/or sons to take up crochet as well. =)

Dearest Darling,

Ever since I can remember, my grandfather was a knitter. Also, in 6th grade I was friends with a boy who would knit on pencils. I remember him making a scarf once. And then, of course, there is Rosie Greer.... :-D

In Christ,

Mrs. M.

I see Mrs. M is back and in action. Hi there Mrs. M!!!

When my brother used to work as a salesman they would sometimes have to be out of town for a week at a time. All the other guys would go out and party at night. My brother sat in his hotel room and cross stitched. He made a BEAUTIFUL large cross stitch picture that he had framed and matted and gave to his wife for Christmas. It is a real treasure!!!

Also, when we would go to visit my Grandma, my Mom would give me and my 4 brothers crochet hooks and rug yarn. We would make pot holders to give to my Grandma. It kept us busy and not fighting in the car. Although there were occasional fights over a color. =)

Would you believe I actually have friends that live in Cathlamet? I'm in Washington state too. It is an island between Ilwaco and Vancouver, WA.

When I was young, one of my parents girlfriends has cancer. Her husband crocheted to pass the time in the hospital waiting rooms for her surgeries and treatments. She spent a lot of time at our house recouperating since they lived a long way from her doctors and hospital. We were much closer.
This was long before I started crocheting though.
