A Whole Month

Boy, I sure have a lot to catch up on. I am afraid to say it.......no one is sick in our home. I don't want to say it, fearing that it could change any minute. :-) We have had sickness in this home since Christmas time. Beloved and Big T were on antibiotics the other week (Makes the 4th time since the first of November for Beloved.) Can't wait for spring to come and the children can play outside more often! Between being sick and the weather, cabin fever is really bad in our home! But we did have a lot to keep us busy in February.

February 7th was Little E's 4th birthday. This little boy can drive me crazy most days, but when I do get an "I love you" he melts my heart. (And let me just add that I am blessed to get an I love you from him once every two weeks. Seriously.....he isn't affectionate)

Mr. Ornery is 4!
He had a hard time deciding what kind of cake he wanted. But finally decided on a Clifford rice crispie cake.
I am pretty happy with how it turned out.

Then there was Valentine's Day. We started off with pink heart shaped pancakes. Took a couple of tries but they finally came out. The children loved them and that's what matters.

For dessert that night we had brownies cut into hearts and iced with leftover icing from E's birthday cake. I didn't get a before picture....sorry :-)
Beloved brought home these beautiful red roses *grin*
Then it was Beloved's turn. His birthday was on February 20th and I had a hard time deciding on what to make him. Until I saw a technique for a buttercream transfer. He requested a rice crispy cake with ganache and then I chose the design. I thought an angry bird would be appropriate. The whole family enjoys that game.

I thought the transfer turned out well for the first try.
I don't have any pictures of the transfer during the process, but you can see the image I used.
So, it was a busy month and I have another busy month coming up. Spring is coming and there is a lot of things to get done around this house. One big thing is Sweet E's 6th birthday. I have so much to get done before then! The sun is shining today and it's beautiful outside. Oh, how I have missed the sunshine. May the Lord bless you through this week and I will do my best (as long as the family stays healthy) to post more. :-)

Do you and your family take Vit. D at all? That might help with all the winter time sickness. Love your cakes, Melanie!!
