Girls Won!

Miss SweetS joined our family on July 10th around 1:30 in the morning. She weighed 9 lbs 6 oz. (she beat the other children out by almost a whole pound!) My only baby to come in the middle of the night, but what a blessing! Sweet E, Little E, and Special K slept through the whole thing. Big T was the secondary birthing coach. He would time my contractions and hold my hand when Beloved had to step away for a minute. He also kept a sharp eye out for the midwife. It was so cute to watch him. He was like a first time father. ;-) It was so sweet.

All the children are in love with SweetS. Every morning they all pile into bed with me and fight over who gets to hold her first. She has stolen everyone's heart. I should also add that the girls won! There was a great debate in our home on which gender would win out. Looks like the girls are dominating the house! That's okay. Little E has enough energy to equal about 3 boys. :-)

As long as my camera doesn't die on me I hope to be sharing lots of pictures. It's soccer season after all. And can you believe that Special K will be 3 next month?! Goes by way to fast.

Oh honey, congratulations on your now one-year-old! I fell off the face of the earth due to a surgery that went terribly awry but started blogging again about a month ago so had to look through my blogroll and see who was still out here. Your kiddos are as darling as ever and you look BEAUTIFUL in that picture with SweetS. Just had to say hello and check in on you. I'm keeping you on the blogroll with the hope you'll post an update. :) Nice to "see" you.

Last Saturday I had the chance to do something I had never done before. I put together a gingerbread house with my MIL and my children. My MIL made the gingerbread and then she had me help her assemble it and then decorate it. We didn't finish it all, but we hope to finish it this afternoon since she has the day off. I did it!

Yes, I did get up at 5am this morning. Two days in a row, that is a HUGE deal for me. Let's see if I can keep this up (but probably not on Sundays). Tomorrow will be the test. I am not the type of person that can sleep in two days in a row and then get up on time through the week. I am going to try to only allow myself (at first) to sleep in one day a week. We will see how that goes. ;) But, my quiet time the past two mornings has been wonderful! It's amazing how it totally changes my day. Today I was thinking about smiling. Do you know that people are drawn to a smile? It's true. Think about it. When you are out in a store or just out on a walk...there is something about a smile from someone. I guess it gives me "hope" that there are actually people out there with joy in their heart. Gotta wonderful sometimes with all the scowls I see.
