Lunch With Papa

Image
Well, today was a special day. Why was it a special day? It was special because we were able to have lunch with Beloved. He works only about a block from the town square which is perfect for picnic lunches. They have a lot of picnic tables for people to be able to enjoy nice days on their lunch breaks. Now...I did not pack a picnic lunch. I have to confess we picked up our lunches on the way down to see Beloved. But the children enjoyed it. :-) Oh well, at least we got to spend his lunch hour with him and make new friends. Want to see the children's new friends? Here they are... Although Little E wanted nothing to do with them. He was happy eating his lunch. :-) They even got to meet Mark Twain. LOL But Mark Twain was a little boring for them, so they found new friends to play with. :-) Just Little E's size too. But their new friends were too scared to run through the water, but Big T and Sweet E definitely were not! Little E took the safe route...he ran around it. ;-) LOL The

Demolition Time

Well, Beloved and the children have a new project going on. It's doing some demo work in the apartment and believe it or not....the children love helping. And the pictures are so cute I just have to share. :-) First, hubby got the wall tore out of the kitchen and the drop ceiling taken down. These pics are of the children helping take down the ceiling. This stuff wouldn't hold the weight of insulation so it definitely needs to be replaced. If you click on the picture you can see that Sweet E is even wearing her "pearls" to do the work. LOL Sweet E and Big T took turns on the ladder. They keep asking when we are going to work on the apartment so they can swing a hammer some more. LOL Big T wasn't sure about being up on the ladder at first, but as the evening went on...he climbed up there with no fear. Unfortunately these are the only pictures I have for now. But there is still a lot of work to be down, so I am sure I will be sharing more. :-)

Our Anniversary.......

Image
I just wanted to share a few pictures from this past week. First up are the gorgeous flowers that I received. Aren't they so pretty? :-) On our anniversary I purchased a window marker to leave a message for Beloved when he returned home from work. He liked it a lot. :-) Then on Friday Beloved and I had the opportunity to spend the evening alone without the children. :-) My MIL kept the children for the evening. The children had a wonderful time spending the night with Nana and E-pa (that is what Little E calls grandpa). It was the first time for the younger two to spend the evening away from home. Anyway, Beloved and I had a wonderful dinner at the Alcove Restaurant in town. If you live near Mt. Vernon and have never eaten there...I highly suggest going at least once. After our delicious dinner Beloved and I had a chance to relax at our little "cottage" at the Mt. Vernon Inn . This was a surprise for Beloved. I reserved the suite in January and he didn't know where

Our 7th Wedding Anniversary!

**This is a repost from last year. Yeah I know, but with a lot of things to catch up on...it was just easier than retyping this entire thing. LOL So just bear with me. ** Today is our 7th wedding anniversary! So much has happened in seven years, but we have been together for almost 10 years! (In September it will be 10 years since our first date). So, I wanted to take time to share some pictures with you. I have divided them up into groups: our engagement and our wedding. I will first tell the story of our engagement. We had been together for 8 1/2 months when Hubby asked for my hand. And boy...was the proposal a good one. I had many friends jealous over this. That summer I was babysitting for 3 children and when I returned home from work I came home to an apartment filled (and I do mean FILLED!) with streamers and balloons. I think I had about a hundred balloons in my apartment and streamers were everywhere. On the table were a dozen yellow roses (one of my utmost favorites) and a bo

Gluten what?

So much stuff has happened the past month. First of all I can't believe it has been a whole month since I last posted! This summer is just flying right by and I feel (some days) that I haven't even had a chance to enjoy it. I figured a quick update was in order and maybe a reason or two for my absence from the blog(s). Well, first of all school is over so the other blog has slowed because of that very reason. As for this blog....it's SUMMER! I think that probably handles most things. When it is summer there are many, many things to do. Although the biggest adventure has been going gluten free for my hubby and the rest of the family is joining in. Talk about a learning curve! There is so much to take in. So instead of using whole wheat flour (or all purpose flour) I know use White Rice Flour, Brown Rice Flour, Sweet Rice Flour, Tapioca Starch, Arrowroot Starch, Millet Flour, Sorghum flour, Garbanzo Bean flour, Potato Flour and Potato Starch. Oh...and don't forget xanthum
