I Don't Like Ice!

Image
It's been a couple of days since the ice storm, but the effects are still holding strong. We had one very unnerving night as we heard a number of things come crashing down outside (on the roof and all around). Of course the tree was right about the master bedroom so we heard ice come crashing down all night long. Not fun at all! Why do the limbs from our neighbors tree always fall in our yard?! They never seem to fall in his I am more upset with this particular limb..... It tore the cable line off the house. You can see the arrows pointing to the cable and the spot where it should be.  I had Beloved throw the cable line up and over the swing set to keep the dog from tripping over it and possibly chewing on it.  This silver maple lost a lot of limbs that night (and it's the one that dropped ice over our heads all night long). One of the limbs on our bush didn't make it. Split right down the middle. These arrows show a limb that fell out of our tree in t...

Remnants....

of Ike came through yesterday. We didn't get rain, but we got wind and lots of it! Up to 75 miles per hour. I have never seen wind like that before in my life. We have trees down all over the place and I am shocked that I even have internet. I thought for sure it would be out...with our electricity for days. But praise the Lord we never lost power and our internet is back up. Oh...and I have a cell phone...most people around have lost service for their phones. So I just wanted to show a few pictures that we quickly took yesterday. Our poor dog lost his roof too. Here is our roof yesterday.... During repair.... and after. It is such a blessing to have friends to come and help us when we need it. I wasn't sure when we could get the rough fixed and it is fixed less than 24 hours after it happened. I pray everyone else that has gone through this storms path is well. Blessings to all.

Sonshine =)

Yes, the weather is warmer and the sun is shining bright. It just makes the house more happy and enjoyable during the day. I am hoping, after DD's nap, to let the children outside for a while. I really want them to run off some energy. ;) As I was thinking of the sunshine "filling" my home I ask myself if there is "Sonshine" in my soul. Am I letting God fill me up? I have to confess that before Little E was born and even after that my time with the Lord is too few and far between. But...I think everyone is getting in more of a routine. I hope to get my "Schedule" revamped and get back to using my binder to help me manage my home and keep me on track. When I am more organized I always seem to have more time for the Lord because I don't get distracted as easily. Oh..I am just enjoying this sunshine so much today and I should hear soon (I hope) that my Mom has made it back into town safely. **Don't forget to set your clocks forward by one hour Sat...
