I Love Autumn!

What better way to start the season then to have a doughnut and cider party! :D Remember all those apples I canned last week? Well there were still plenty of apples left over, so a family in our church graciously had everyone over for a get together. They made fresh doughnuts and cider. Here is a picture of the ladies getting the doughnuts made. Here are the doughnuts being fried up...it smelled heavenly in that kitchen. ;o) And then about half of the doughnuts after they had been glazed. They were delicious! While I was inside near the doughnuts ;o) Beloved was outside helping with the cider. We had 2 presses and I think almost everyone helped out. We even had popcorn popped over a fire. So much food and great fellowship. It was a wonderful evening. Oh, and after everyone had some doughnuts, cider and popcorn most of us went for a ride on a hay wagon. The children, and adults, had a lot of fun. Although we should have made a stop at Marci's house to serenade Josh before they left ...

Party!

We had so much fun Friday evening at our friend's home to celebrate the graduation of their four oldest children. Yes....graduation parties are normally held in May or June, but I think they had the right idea of waiting until the busy summer season is over. Anyway, It was a lot of fun and thought I would show some pictures. I just pray that they have their power back on. It went of during the storm last week and as of Friday night they still didn't have any. I also wanted to share a video of Little E just because he is just so adorable!

Busy, Busy, Busy

Wow! I thought I fell behind before on pics, but today I realized I had about 100 pics on the camera that I hadn't downloaded yet. So...I thought I would do a summary of how our week went. Sunday - Was our Anniversary...posted about it earlier. And the children had VBS with Nana Monday - Good day to dig in the dirt and play under the bush. (Of course they couldn't stay clean for VBS with Nana. So..they had to get a shower before they left.) Tuesday -VBS with Nana Wednesday - Down to the river to pray , to throw a few rocks, and the privilege of witnessing two in our fellowship being baptized. Thursday - Attend the closing presentation for VBS...Little E had to keep Grandpa busy. ;o) Oh...and a visit from "Cooper"...the favorite of the whole VBS week I think. :) Oh, I almost forgot...the children helped plant a tree in Honor of a very special lady who has helped with more VBS programs than anyone I know. Friday- Go grocery shopping and watch a bug catch it's dinne...

Fellowship

What a wonderful afternoon I had today. They ladies in our fellowship gathered together for a tea today. The main reason is that we will soon have two ladies leaving. One is going with her family to Guatemala for Language School and the other is leaving with her family to New York for 3 months. We all wanted have time to be together and fellowship with one another before "parting." The hostesses (the mother and her daughters) made wonderful food for us. I really enjoyed the raspberry parfaits...I think they were a vanilla type yogurt (maybe...Mrs. M correct me if I am wrong) layered with a raspberry sauce and topped with whip cream. YUM! Plus they were pleasing to the eye in tall elegant glasses. It was also enjoyable because older children from our church watched the little ones while we visited. The younger children ran races, swinging, going down the slide and having all sorts of fun. So it was definitely a Win-Win situation! The conversation was wonderful...we spoke about...
