4 days!

Only 4 more days until we get to go to the CREATION MUSEUM ! I don't know who is more excited...the children.....or the parents! ;o) So be prepared for pics of our trip next week! Can't wait till Monday. :o)

Illness and Ouchies

Image
Well...we have had an interesting start to our week. In the early hours of Monday morning Sweet E woke up 2 different times and had thrown up in her bed. She seemed perfectly fine and I took her to a local store. We were inside for maybe 2 minutes and she threw up again. So....I got her home and let her take a nice LONG bath. Then we didn't have any problems the rest of the day. Today....she didn't seem quiet like herself, but no big deal. Them about 7:45 this evening she threw up again. But now she is running around like it never happened. Both boys appear to be fine. Now...here is were the Ouchies come in. On Monday afternoon when Sweet E was sleeping, Little E fell onto something. It took the top layer of the skin on his lip off and cut his gums. I still don't know what happened exactly. He had a pretty big lip for the rest of the day. The swelling is barely even noticeable today. So..how is everyone else's week going? ;)

Coffee Funny!

Gotta Love It!

I love knowing that in less than 45 minutes I saved my family over $20 . What did I do? I gave my Beloved and Big T hair cuts . I think I do pretty good with using just a pair of scissors and my hands. I started doing hair cuts this way when our clippers became too dull last year and a piece broke off and we didn't have the money to replace them. I hope to get a decent set of clippers next month though so I can give Little E his first haircut. :D

I am such a chicken!

Today I had to go to the dentist to have a cavity filled. Now, the last time I had a cavity I think I was around seven years old. I haven't had one since. Plus I had a bad experience with a dentist as a child, so that all played a factor today. My nerves started to get the better of me. (They probably thought I was the biggest chicken!) :o) But the Lord helped my nerves to calm down. I went ahead an opted to have a shot of Nov@caine and I am glad I did, but at least if I get one again I will know what to expect. But you can make sure I am brushing more than I did before to try and prevent having to have that done again. :D So...now I can relax. Hubby is up for his appointment next. ;o)

Something New!

Oh my...our Little E started taking steps this week. He is so much fun to watch that I just had to share. :D

Bible Memorization

Last week we started memorization of the Bible with Big T and Sweet E. They wanted to have their picture taken while reciting the verse....so I just thought I would share. :D

Children are a Heritage of the Lord

Pizza, Pizza, Pizza!

Image
My children just love helping in the kitchen. Especially when they get the opportunity to make pizza! I finally remembered to take pictures on Saturday to share with everyone. First, Big T helps me make the pizza dough . He holds the mixer down so it doesn't dance . ;) (Make sure you have your apron on!) Then we get it rolled out on the pan. Top it with our favorite sauce. The "perfect" cheese blend . Our family loves it and we put the whole bag of cheese on the pizza! Then Sweet E helped me top the pizza with black olives, mushrooms, and onions. Oh...and if you have long hair make sure you have it covered. ;D Most people don't realize that you need to taste the onions to make sure they are good enough for the pizza. Sweet E eats these onions like they are candy. (FYI I tried these onions raw and had to spit it out because it was too hot for me!) Finally, make sure you top it with freshly ground black pepper. Yum! I forgot to take a picture when it came out of the ov

I did it!

Yes, I did get up at 5am this morning. Two days in a row, that is a HUGE deal for me. Let's see if I can keep this up (but probably not on Sundays). Tomorrow will be the test. I am not the type of person that can sleep in two days in a row and then get up on time through the week. I am going to try to only allow myself (at first) to sleep in one day a week. We will see how that goes. ;) But, my quiet time the past two mornings has been wonderful! It's amazing how it totally changes my day. Today I was thinking about smiling. Do you know that people are drawn to a smile? It's true. Think about it. When you are out in a store or just out on a walk...there is something about a smile from someone. I guess it gives me "hope" that there are actually people out there with joy in their heart. Gotta wonderful sometimes with all the scowls I see. Make sure you have a smile on your face today. :) Oh...the other night when we went to the store Sweet E was so happy. When we w

Rise and Shine!

At least, that is what I tried to do this morning. It's been a year (yes, a year, sadly) since I woke early and was able to have quality quiet time with the Lord. Beloved has been getting up at 5 am during the week so he can get to the gym for a workout, while I lazily stay in bed until the children awake. Last night he challenged me to get up when he does. Let me tell you, it felt impossible to get up this morning, but once I did I felt great! Of course...I have already had two mochas. ;) I was flipping through the back of my Bible this morning (I write down various bits from sermons and studies on the blank pages in the back.) and came to one that stood out. The role the wife plays in the home is not a lesser role. It's a different role, but it isn't a lesser role. I haven't looked at my role as an inferior one, but sometimes I wonder if my attitude some days makes it seem like I do. I don't remember where this note came from. Perhaps it was from one of the mes

Quote of the Week

I just have to share this....Sweet E is hilarious sometimes! The other day Hubby and Big T were "wrestling". I guess I should say that Big T was trying and Hubby was just sitting there fending him off when he needed to. Anyway, at one point Hubby had Big T in a hold and Big T was crying out for help. Sweet E walked up to Hubby and said, " LET MY PEOPLE GO! " Guess she has been hearing the story of Moses lately. :D

My Cake Adventure!

Image
Some of you know that my MIL "commissioned" me to make a birthday cake for my FIL. No problem...she wanted it to be baseball themed. Okay...should be fine. I wanted to make a baseball cake that was sort of 3D. Well, I don't have one of those nifty Wilton Ball Cake Pans. No problem..I will just bake it in one of my stainless steel mixing bowls. Well the cake was in the oven for well over well over an hour and about a 1 1/2 inch circle in the center was still batter! I didn't want the cake to turn into charcoal so I did want any inventive mother would do. I scooped out the batter and when I leveled the cake I took the extra and stuffed it in the middle! To keep it together until it cooled completely I stuck a bunch of skewers through it. Once it was cooled I decorated it. I haven't done decorating with a star tip in a long time but I don't think I did too bad for someone who only does it about once a year (although it will probably be more since I do the childr

Lion.....

Image
You didn't know we kept a lion in a cage in our home, did you? ;) Little E loves the lion. And that the best place to hide from the big bad Lion is inside a plastic tote. :o)

Bella is Beautiful

We had a little visitor last night. Big T was so excited to get to hold her. She is the daughter of a childhood friend of Hubby's. This precious little girl is barely over a month old. Oh my...it was so wonderful to get to hold her ( Baby Lust! ). It's hard to remember that children were ever that small once. They grow up so fast. Anyway, I just wanted to show this gorgeous little girl off. :D

Bye, Bye Blondie...

For those of you who do not know Blondie was one of the children's rabbits. The other night we had discovered that she was hurt pretty badly. She had to be put down. We had a wonderful friend take care of it for us without the children knowing. When spring comes and they realize one is missing...it will be interesting to see what they say. I felt so bad....when she was staring at me with those sad little eyes. :( Blondie....you will be missed. We just have to wait and see how Brownie does without her company.

Beautiful....

Show and Tell Friday (1/4)

Image
Wow...it has been a while since I have taken part. I don't have anything "magnificent" to show, but I thought I would share some baking the children and I have done the past month. Before Christmas the children and I tried our hand at gingerbread cookies. I have never made them before. They turned out pretty well if I say so myself! ;) Then, we made a snowman cake for when we had friends over last week. The children had so much fun making him. Will definitely have to make another one soon!
