Show and Tell Friday (6/29)

Image
Welcome to "Show and Tell Friday!" Do you have a something special to share with us? It could be a trinket from grade school, a piece of jewelry, an antique find. Your show and tell can be old or new. Use your imagination and dig through those old boxes in your closet if you have to! Feel free to share pictures and if there's a story behind your special something, that's even better! Okay, I know this video is from wintertime, but since everyone hasn't seen it I wanted to share it again. It is of Big T and our Dog, Shad. I hope you all enjoy. :)

The Bush

Image
No, I am not referring to Africa or a safari. Big T was talking about cooking, stones, etc. and I just figured he was playing in the dirt like any typical boy would. When I walked out side I called for him. He promptly answered but I didn't see him. To most people this is an ordinary bush...right? Or is it? Oh, but it isn't. It is housing my little man. He was busy inside cooking. Take a look at what he has to say. Gotta love all of the things children can come up with. It is a pleasure and an honor to be his mama.

Cars and Mice

Image
No, this post is not about real live mice inside of cars. I wanted to post a picture of Hubby's "new" car. It took a long time, but we were finally able to find a car that we were looking for. Our friend, T, who is a mechanic/police officer looked it over and said we got a real good deal. I am very pleased with it and I think hubby is too. The Lord does provide if we wait on him. So, here is a picture of his commuter car. We hope this will last him for a long time and it will definitely save on gas as it gets around 37 miles ( highway) to the gallon. (and highway miles is what Hubby puts on it.) And yes....it's a standard...just what Hubby wanted. =) Then I also wanted to post a picture of some mice I made. My BIL birthday was earlier this month and I decided I wanted to make him a "treat" that he seems to enjoy so much and those are chocolate covered mice. I thought I would show you all how to make them too. First I take my maraschino cherries ( WITH stems

"If you are new to SHS find out all about it here: Getting Started with SHS . Click here to read more SHS posts. Please don't forget to link back to this post so your readers can find out more about SHS." -Lara Okay....I have had such a crazy month...I don't even know where to start. A few weeks ago I hurt my back and this past week I had to deal with what I am assuming is a bug bite that caused me swelling and redness down my arm. At least my ironing got done, but only because a wonderful young lady from church came to help me one day. And..praise the Lord...I will be having help regularly every week too so I should be able to start to get "a hold" on things better. This week I am going to add the task of planning my meals weekly. So...on Sunday I will do my best to plan my meals for the week. Wish me luck! Make Bed - Still needs improvement Wash the Sheets - Doing very well! Floss Teeth - Doing very well! 15 Minute Clean3 days - Better Ironing - Pretty go

Feel free to share pictures and if there's a story behind your special something, that's even better! Okay, it has been requested that I show a picture of my garden. Sorry it isn't the greatest but you can get a general over view. Due to the unusually dry weather we had the last month some things didn't do well at all. My strawberries I bought...forget it...I think I got 4 berries. When it was time for me to "replant" a few things, that is when I hurt my back and never got it done. At least my tomato plants are looking good. I hope that I get some bell peppers this year too. They have been really hard to grow the past couple of years. Anyway, here is the picture. On th

Corndog Casserole

Image
Okay..there is probably something like this out there already, but I just wanted to share one of my "newest" creations that has turned into a favorite with my family. I came up with this because I purchased a lot of hot dogs because we were planning on having a family over for a cook out. Well...that is the week I hurt my back badly so they didn't come and I ended up with 20+ hot dogs to deal with. Well I came up with this little casserole that every one likes. I have even made it twice in a week and a half. First I cut the hot dogs into quarters lengthwise and place them in the bottom of the greased dish. Then I placed the dish in the hot oven while I mixed up my homemade cornbread. Once I had that made I sprinkled the hot dogs with shredded cheese and then the cornbread. Here is a picture of the finished product that my whole family loves! The first time I made it I put baked beans in the dish and topped it with the hot dogs and then cornbread. Hubby likes it with the

Update on My Arm

Image
Well, a picture of my arm has been requested. It is a lot better. It is barely pink and just a little swollen, but a ton better than it was a few days ago. What do you all think?

Pictures

Image
I just wanted to take time to post some pictures from Sunday. My FIL/MIL and BIL/SIL met us at Ye Old Mil l for a Father's day get together and some ice cream. My other BIL and his family were at a Cleveland Indian's baseball game....so I guess their excuse will have to hold up. ;) Here is a picture of my FIL and Little E. Little E loves his Papaw a lot (just as the other children do.) This picture is of all the Papas (FIL, Hubby, and BIL). This last picture is of Hubby, his dad, and his sister. As I mentioned before his brother was at a baseball game. We had a good time. The children enjoyed seeing their aunt, uncle and cousins. They get so excited when they see them! I must have gotten my bite while we were down there because my MIL had some of the same symptoms, but on her ear and face. As of yesterday it wasn't nearly as bad as mine. Here are a couple of pictures of mine. Not the greatest, but I think you can get the idea. The pen outline is what the doctor did. And by

Update

Well, the swollen area on my right arm (assuming it's some sort of bite) has at least doubled in size. It's still growing. I reluctantly went to the doctor's office when we got back to town and they put me on antibiotics. I was very leary about taking them since I am nursing Little E, but the doctor said it should be fine. You can believe I will be watching him like a hawk though. Before I ever made it to the doctor's office though I went to the chiropractor this morning. He had to adjust my back and my neck. After he adjusted my neck he said, "boy....those were out to lunch." Meaning that they were way out of place. I need to go back next week. But, I better get back to doing stuff around the house since I have only been home for a couple of hours. Just wanted to give an update.

I Give Up!

Well, not really but I sure am getting tired of.....bug bites and back pain. I have about 10 bites on my left ankle/foot and over 25 on my right ankle/foot. Of course you all know I hurt my back a couple of weeks ago. It still hurts...hope to see the chiropractor tomorrow. Then tonight something bit me....I don't know what, but something bit me on my right arm and know it is swollen about 2x4 1/2 inches. It doesn't itch, but it sure does hurt. Sweet E, Little E and Hubby don't seem to have any bites like I do. Big T has a couple on his back and one on his foot, but nothing like me. I just can't figure out what's biting me. I sure hope whatever it is has moved on and has found something else to feast on!

HAPPY FATHER'S DAY

Image
Happy Father's Day to all the Fathers out there. May you have a blessed, God-Filled Day! To my Wonderful Hubby- God has blessed me so much by giving you to me. You are such a wonderful father and a wonderful Husband. I couldn't ask for anything more. You are the leader of our home and I know our children will be raised in a home that loves the Lord with all of their hearts. We love you and we thank the Lord everyday for you. WE LOVE YOU PAPA! To my Father: I pray that you have a wonderful day. We are sorry we could not see you. We miss seeing you. You are a wonderful father and grandpa! We Love you! To my Father-In-Law: You are a wonderful man! Thank you for all that you do for us. We love you and can't wait to have some ice cream! :) To My BIL- You are a wonderful father to your girls. God has blessed you so much and we pray that you will continue to strengthen your walk with him. To my other BIL- Your family has been such a blessing to us. We pray that you will have a

Farmer's Market and a Package

Image
What a wonderful day we have had. The first thing we did this morning was go to the market. On our way there (we walk and it takes about 20-25 minutes) we stopped and picked up some Orange Juice for hubby and myself and Chocolate milk for the children. Once we got there was stopped at Marge's table and had some wonderful blueberry muffins. (In case you couldn't guess, this was our breakfast). Once the muffins were finished Sweet E was over at the fountain. They love that fountain, but today..it was looking a little brown. :p It didn't matter to her though. She still loved it. Big T took a little longer in getting over to the fountain because he wanted to make sure that he drank ALL of his milk before going anywhere. :) All the while my precious Little E was sleeping in the stroller. Isn't he adorable? Can you believe he is already getting up on his hands and knees like he is ready to crawl!? I am not ready for him to start that yet. I want him to stay little, but I know

"If you are new to SHS find out all about it here: Getting Started with SHS . Click here to read more SHS posts. Please don't forget to link back to this post so your readers can find out more about SHS." -Lara Well not doing great on my newest habit (15 minute clean), but I had a problem with my back and arm a couple of days this week. No excuse though. I WILL do better next week. Still not doing well with making the bed either, BUT I am doing very well on washing the sheets every week. I washed them yesterday and hung them on the line to dry. Nothing like the smell of sheets dried by the sun! :) I think there was only a couple of days where I forgot to floss my teeth, so I am doing well with that too. This week I am going to add my ironing. Since I had Little E I haven't done well with getting my ironing done. So...my goal is to get my ironing done 2 days after washing the laundry. (I will eventually move it up to doing it the next day). So...now I am off to star

Show and Tell Friday (6/15)

Welcome to "Show and Tell Friday!" Do you have a something special to share with us? It could be a trinket from grade school, a piece of jewelry, an antique find. Your show and tell can be old or new. Use your imagination and dig through those old boxes in your closet if you have to! Feel free to share pictures and if there's a story behind your special something, that's even better! Well, today I was going to share something special with all of you. What is that you might ask? Why, it's Sweet E's "purpose" of course! See...here is a picture of her purpose. Still don't believe me? I guess I will just have to show you a video of her talking about her "purpose" then. =) So here you go. I have told her it is a purse...and she even repeats it. But, when she talks about it she refers to it as her "purpose". I thought it was pretty funny. Blessings to all on this Glorious Friday that the Lord has given us.

Pictures

Image
Okay...I just realized that I haven't posted any new pictures of the children. Shame on me! Anyway here is a picture of Little E in his ball cap and then a pic of Big T and Little E. So cute...It reminds me of this picture of Big T and Sweet E. And last of all I wanted to share a video of Little E. Not like he does much of anything, but it's still adorable. =)

Embarassing

Why is it titled embarrassing? Because I let two wonderful women in my pig sty of a home today. I was so embarrassed, but as a wise "older lady" told me it is more Blessed to Give than to receive. And that during this time in my life....I need to be on the receiving end and let others be blessed by giving. Anyway....they did my dishes, folded my laundry, and even brought me dinner! Isn't that just the sweetest thing they could do! I guess I need to also say what prompted them to do this (probably.) You all know I hurt myself pretty bad over a week ago. Well last night everything was fine and then all of a sudden I had a pain in my chest and back....my arm was sort of numb and after an hour my face got a little tingly. It was gone this morning. Not real sure what's going on with that, but it may have something to do with my back or something. But enough about that. I wanted to say THANK YOU to Mrs. Schwartz and Miss Schwartz for the help today. Blessings to you. :)

The Cross

Over 5 years ago, before we were married, Hubby found this website by a Korean gentleman that made an impact on our lives. He makes this short "videos" and most of them are wonderful! Here is the first one that hubby saw. ****Deleted so that you could hear the videos I have posted**** If you are interested in seeing more visit here Lord and Me It is still his favorite. I will try to post a different one at least every other day for you to see. I hope you enjoy them and I pray that they will have an impact on your life. Blessings to all! =)

Thank You Papa!

Our Papa is the bestest Papa ever! He purchased a Water Activity Table for the children. I don't like spending that much money, but it's better then having them running in the sprinkler everyday....gotta pay the city for that. Anyway, here is a quick video of Big T and Sweet E. You might want to pause the music player in the side bar.

"Participate in SHS for 3 out of 4 weeks in May to be entered in a drawing for Speed Cleaning by Jeff Campbell and of course I will make you an Organizing Bag to put it in. I love the book and I love his products at The Clean Team . If you want to be entered in the drawing, e-mail me the links to your entries when you're done with three of them. That makes it so much easier for me and I'm all about my life being easier! " -Lara Well, last week I couldn't do a whole lot. I hurt myself pretty bad. I am still sore, but a lot better than last week. =) Well let's see, I have done very well with flossing my teeth and pretty good at washing my sheets. As for making the bed everyday, I am failing miserably at that. So besides needing to improve on that once again I am going to add 15 minute clean times for 3 days a week. I know it should happen everyday, but I need to start somewhere. Maybe this will help keep things from piling up around the house. That is my "

Feel free to share pictures and if there's a story behind your special something, that's even better! Well, I wanted to show this really cool thing I picked up for my son at the yard sales a couple of weeks ago. This is a pretty old tool set. All of it is made of wood and metal...no plastic parts here! It even has the original manual with it. Hubby and I thought this would be so much fun for Big T, but no worries...he only gets it out when Hubby can devote his full attention to him. [You do see the metal saw...right? =) ] Now I am off to see what everyone else has today!
