Our "New" Vehicle

Image
I am so excited!!! We got our "new" van today. I really like it...for a minivan. I like our other van because it sits up higher and the seats in the back ....well, I don't feel like I am sitting on the floor. But alas....it's had 180,000+ and the air conditioner needs to be replaced (not recharged, but fully replaced). Sorry for rambling. The Lord really blessed us with finding this van. We didn't think we would be able to purchase a vehicle anytime soon. When we were visiting our in-laws on Saturday i looked in the local paper and saw an ad for this van. We (almost immediately) went over to have a look at it. After we took it for a drive (and after talking to a couple of "mechanic" friends) we knew it is what we wanted. We have been researching for a few months. It turns out that this lady is the Grandmother to a guy that my Hubby played baseball with. We and the owner felt it was God that led us to this vehicle. I won't go into every little detai

Magic Yarn Ball

Image
Okay...most of you are probably wondering what in the world a magic yarn ball is. Well the simplest explanation is that you take an item and wrap yarn around it....then you add another item to the ball and wrap yarn around it...and so on. Well, my friend from the Lullabies and Lace forum sent me this huge box! You can see how it is with Big T sitting by it. She sent 5 balls total; one for each of the children and 2 for me! Here is a picture of Big T and Sweet E with their balls. This next picture is of Big T's ball half way done in the "unwinding" process. You can also tell in this picture that I already unwound Sweet E's ball. H ere is a picture of what the two of them received. It took me 2 hours to unwind just their two balls!!!! It was craziness. Sweet E received a lovely pink bear and H*llo K*tty bandages and Big T received supplies to make awesome suncatchers. These next two pictures are of Little E before I unwound the ball and after with his books. He absolute

Show and Tell Friday

Image
Kelli started up a thing called Show and Tell Friday. Last week I showed a picture of some painting my hubby and I did. This week I am going to share a couple of photos of Big T and dogs. The first one is of Big T when he was about 8 or 9 months old and our dog Shad. (Shad is only a few months old in this picture). The second pic is one of my favorites. It is of Big T when he was just shy of being 2 and my Mom's dog, Daisy. I love how bright the grass is. I have been meaning to make an 8x10 out of it to hang on the wall. This is a great reminder for me to do that. ;)

Little E

Oh my! I just wanna hug, squeeze, and kiss this little guy all day. I think he is just so adorable that I wanted to share some videos with you. The first one is of him laughing, the second of him being an acrobat (balancing on his Papa's hand), and the last one is of him and me having a conversation. I hope you enjoy them.

Asking for Prayer

Image
Today I am writing this "request" for prayer for Big T. This morning during breakfast he vomited on the floor. We weren't sure if he was sick with something or his gag reflex kicked in from not wanting to eat. Anyway...I ran a couple more errands and while I was gone he vomited two more times. Well...during the course of the day he has thrown up 10 times and we were unsuccessful in getting him to keep any fluids down. Out of desperation we called the doctor (that was on call). It's frustrating because he isn't showing any other symptoms...no fever, diarrhea, or anything. He acts like his normal self until he feels like he needs to throw up. Anyway the doctor prescribed a suppository for him to try and keep the nausea down so we could get him something to drink. Well, we weren't sure about giving him this, but decided to try it out of desperation. (It was that or take him to the hospital for an IV treatment. ) So, it has been 3 hours since we gave him the supp

Show and Tell Friday

Image
Kelli has started this wonderful thing on her blog and I thought it would be a lot of fun to join in! So here goes...these pictures are my Show and Tell. The first picture is of a painting that my Hubby and I did at the church we used to attend. This covers an entire wall in the youth room. It was a lot of fun to do and I am pretty proud since it's the first thing like this we had ever done. (It took me 4 hours just to paint the dark blue portion of the water!!!!!) We had a lot of fun spending time together and getting to put something "cool" on the youth room wall. (We had only been married a couple of months when we started it.) The second picture is of one of the scripture verses I painted on the youth room wall. I think I painted 5 or 6 in total around the room. The third picture is of a painting my Hubby and a friend did in the same youth room when they were in High School. Not too bad for high school kids!

Couples Night

Crochet and Couples

Image
I know it has been few and far between...my posts I mean. Our couples night went really well I think. Everyone seemed to have a good time. When everyone came in they were "greeted" with candlelight and a lighted arch which lead the way to the tables. The tables were decorated beautifully, with the help from Mrs. M. =) There were 13 handmade doilies...one for each couple to take home. As for those of you who were wondering....they are all PK doilies. (from this book ) So without further ado....here are the pictures that some individuals have requested. ;) The first 13 pictures are of the doilies of course! Here are a couple of pictures of the place settings. Here is a picture of everyone seated at their places as we were getting started. This picture is of the candlelight that greeted people. This next picture is of three couples playing "Jeopardy" and the winning couple received a gift card to the Olive Garden. And here are the wonderful helpers (so nice to have hel

"Busy as a Bee"

Image
Well, I am busy anyway. =) I am trying to tie up all the "loose ends" for our couple's night tomorrow. I just hope I don't forget anything. I have one more thing I need to purchase tonight for the food, but other than that...I think we have everything. Tomorrow Mrs. M and I will go to the church where we are having the dinner, and do the decorating. I still have all of my decorations from my wedding (Hard to believe we have been married for almost 5 years) and that is what we are going to be using. I can't wait. I love this type of stuff. ;) Right now I am just waiting on my van to arrive so I can have it tomorrow. A Brother from the church picked the van up the other day to do some work for us. It will be nice to have 2 vehicles to drive again. I can live without it, but when I am put in charge of decorating...it's nice if I have a way to get there. ;) Last night some ladies from the church and I went out to dinner to celebrate the birthday of Mrs. Troyer.
